Our Guiding Principles

1. Company decisions must conform to the Strategic Objective, GOP, and Working Procedures documents.

2. Family comes first. It is important to do our job well so that we can provide financially for our families but it is also important that we spend time with our families. We try to limit the work week to 40 hours and don't typically work weekends. When family functions come up during the week we do all we can to accommodate them.

3. We don't avoid problems. We face them head-on. When a client calls we don't avoid the call even if we know its potential trouble. We all make mistakes. It is how we handle them that makes or breaks us.

4. We operate the company via documented procedures and systems. "Any recurring problem can be solved with a system." We take the necessary time to create and implement systems and procedures, and in the end, it is well worth it. If there is a recurring problem, a written procedure is created in order to prevent the problem from happening again. On the other hand, we don't bog down the organization with processes and procedures that target once-in-awhile situations. Sometimes we elect to not create a procedure.

5. We leave our troubles at the door. We come to work with a positive and upbeat attitude.

6. We maintain tools, equipment, and stock and keep it 100 percent functional at all times. If something is not working or available as it should be, fix it now - even if it's not necessary to fix it now.

7. We study to increase our skills. A steady diet of reading and contemplation is vital to personal development. We invest in training and staying on the edge of the technology frontier. Time and money spent on learning is well spent.

8. It is up to all of us to create, monitor, and document the systems that make up our business.

9. We keep our work environments clean and organized so that we can all work more efficiently.

10. We follow the guidelines in David Allen's book Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free Productivity and How the Brain Works by David Rock. Efficiency is what makes us profitable and allows us to reduce stress, the lesson in these books get us there. If you do not have these books we have them available in many formats to allow you to learn from their principles.

11. We have the right tool for the job. This applies to our office environment and when out in the field. A tool that makes us work better, faster, and easier is worth the investment.

12. We live in predictable success as defined by Les McKeown in his book title Predictable Success. We constantly evaluate our processes to make sure we stay there. We carefully and systematically approach new challenges so that we avoid unnecessary risk and stress.

13. Our key to success is having the right team. We all strive to be experts in our department and to further our knowledge for our role at Insight Audio Video and Security. We expect our employees to work hard and we work towards rewarding them with great pay and benefits.

14. Timing is everything. We always do what we say we are going to do when we say we are going to do it. We know time is money. The more efficient we can do something without sacrificing quality the better we will all do.

15. We document everything. Our minds are not the steel traps that we think they are.

16. We focus on what we are good at and outsource all of the other stuff. Graphic design, IT, phone systems, etc.

17. We find the simplest solution. Too much complexity leads to problems. The simplest solution that adequately gets the job done is the best solution for our clients and out internal processes.

18. Proper communication is important. When working with clients we ask the right questions and then listen to their needs and concerns. We speak clearly and in proper English. We have manners and use them.

19. Being a positive part of the community is good for our business and ourselves. We give what and when we can.

20. We demand the same level of customer service from our vendors and partners that we give to our clients. We don't allow them to be the weak link in the chain to a great experience for our clients.

21. We got to where we are because of the relationships we have made in related industries. Our continued success will rely on continuing to grow these relationships and fostering new ones. This includes our clients that have been our biggest supporters through their positive word of mouth. We take good care of all our clients but we show special appreciation to those that continually help us reach our goals.

22. Every dollar counts. We don't chase pennies but every dollar keeps us growing. That means that we save where we can and make sure we bill and collect for the work we do. Big and small.
